Everyone is so excited as we only have few days left for the much awaited 2010 Winter Olympics which will be held in Vacouver Canada. The 2010 Winter Olympics will be the third Olympics hosted by Canada, and the first by the province of British Columbia. Previously, Canada was home to the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta.

THE VENUES

The 2010 Winter Olympic Games are scheduled to be held in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia, Canada from February 12 to February 28, 2010.A total of nine competition venues are scheduled to be used during the games, spread across Vancouver, Whistler, and the neighboring areas of West Vancouver and Richmond. The majority of ice sport events will be held in Vancouver, while Whistler, which normally serves as a ski resort, will host the snow events. Six non-competition venues, three each in Vancouver and Whistler, have been completed and will provide athlete housing, space for media, and locations for ceremonies associated with the Games. The largest competition venue where Olympic events are scheduled to be held is Canada Hockey Place, with a capacity of just under 19,000 spectators. The Hockey Place is normally known as General Motors Place, but because corporate sponsorship is not allowed for an Olympic venue, it will be renamed for the duration of the games.

Some venues, including the Richmond Olympic Oval, are at sea level, a rarity for the Winter Games. The 2010 Games will also be the first—Winter or Summer—to have an Opening Ceremony held indoors. Vancouver, which will be the most populous city ever to hold the Winter Games

THE LOGO

The 2010 Winter Olympics logo was unveiled on April 23, 2005, and is named Ilanaaq the Inunnguaq. Ilanaaq is the Inuktitut word for friend. The logo is based on the Inukshuk (stone landmark or cairn) built for the Northwest Territories Pavilion at Expo 86 and donated to the City of Vancouver after the event. It is now used as a landmark on English Bay Beach.

THE MASCOTS

The mascots for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games were introduced on November 27, 2007. Inspired by traditional First Nations creatures, the mascots include:

  • Miga — A mythical sea bear, part orca and part kermode bear.
  • Quatchi — A sasquatch, who wears boots and earmuffs.
  • Sumi — An animal guardian spirit who wears the hat of the orca whale, flies with the wings of the mighty Thunderbird and runs on the strong furry legs of the black bear.
  • Mukmuk — A Vancouver Island marmot.

I noticed yesterday that our neighbor just bought a brand new entertainment set. This kind of entertainment set is really not necessary for a typical family unless they can really afford it. What are the basic necessities of a typical family? Of course aside from food and shelter and clothes, education for kids is very important too. One of the important things to consider is the life insurance. This insurance is used to hedge against the risk of a contingent loss like accidents for example and other related matters. Applying for life insurance can also be done online. Good thing there are sites that offer cheap and very affordable term life insurance quotes. I guess living a simple life is good after all rather than living a luxurious life without being insured.

Wedding takes time as it requires an ultimate preparation especially if you want to make it more luxurious. A lot of them saying that wedding could be very costly but it deserves to become expensive knowing that this is just a once in a lifetime to happen. I am happy that i was given a chance to see how’s my Auntie prepares for her Wedding. They even hire a wedding consultant and specialist to help them out in everything. My Auntie and her husband  choose what theme are they going to use for their wedding, what gown will she be wearing, what foods will be served at reception and a whole lot more. Everything in my Auntie’s wedding turn out perfectly fine and now i was thinking what will be my wedding in the near future? Will it be as luxurious as what my Auntie had or just a simple but elegant wedding? I was actually searching for it over the Internet and hoping that, eventually, i will find something interesting to help me out figuring what my wedding should looks like. Luckily, i found some site that offer cheap invitations and wedding accessories. They are cheap ,but at the same time, stylish and elegant and i think these are perfect for my dream wedding. Is it funny that i am thinking about this wedding preparation but i haven’t found my bride yet? Well, I’m not getting any younger and by now, i should hurry and seek for the right girl!

A car is truly what every man’s dreams. As a Car owner like me, I know how much I should value my car. I know what my car needs and I know what are the parts that should be replaced, upgrade or fix. It is nice to put some colors to your car by redecorating it and personalizing it through the used of some car accessories like car headlights, navigation tools, audio components and more! In my case, I’ve been using my Toyota car for more than four years and I think it’s the right time for me to upgrade it by replacing some of its parts. I’m planning to make a total make over for my car and make it more appealing inside and out. I guess it would be better if I’ll be upgrading my turbocharger and replace my wheels and tires as it will make my car faster and will make my ride more enjoying!

I am very lucky to found carid.com. A site that offers different Toyota accessories and other brands like Ford, Honda, Isuzu and a whole lot more! They have dish kits, spoilers, wheels, vents, lightning, car care products and more! Name it! Carid.com has it all!
If you are interested, you can visit them at their sire and see what the site has to offer for your car!

Original is always better than duplicate. No matter how good duplicate looks from outside, sooner or later it will fade out. This goes for relationship too. Do not pretend to be other that your are not, always Be Yourself. Never put a mask to hide the real you. You cannot pretend for long and change yourself completely. The outcome of this will tremble your relationship.
So whenever you are getting into a relationship, be honest with each other. Do not pretend to be what you are not in order to impress other. Let people love and admire you for what you actually are.

Do you like taking risks? I guess you are in doubt if you’re going to take it or not right? I guess it’s quite normal for most of us. Maybe because we are afraid on whatever consequences it may bring after taking it. There’s no assurance in taking risks, we do not know if we will benefit from it or we will just regret it in the end. But my principle about taking risks changes after I read an article written by Arina in her Self help blog entitled “Why Do We Dislike Taking Risks?”. I have learned that taking risk is okay as long as you know how to do it well. I have learned that before taking risk, we have to calculate them first. You should know your limit and you should know how long you can go. Just be confident to yourself and nothing is impossible.

Basketball is a sport that requires you to have great strength, speed, and strategy to win over your opponent. However these qualities will not be effective enough if a player do not know how to jump higher. A player should LEARN HOW TO JUMP HIGHER so that it will be easy for him and for his team to win. As I was searching over the Internet, I found site that offers training programs that will teach you how to jump higher and how to become more competitive in such sports like Basketball. If you are interested, you can visit http://howtojumphigher.grovetech.com and see what the site has to offer.
